Virgin Poker comes from the same company that offers flights, music, broadband, TV and just about any other service you can think of so it's no surprise it has turned its hand to online poker. As you would expect from something working under the Virgin brand this is a top quality online poker site that is very easy to use even for those new to the game. You can be up and running in minutes ready to get involved in the world of online poker.
The Virgin Poker web site is very well written in a friendly tone that helps you get started with the minimum of fuss. The downloadable client is only compatible with Windows based Pcs and there is no browser based equivalent so Mac or other operating system users are out of luck. However, if you are a Pc user you really are in luck because Virgin Poker offers an excellent client with slick graphics and a very easy to use interface. The help section of the site will easily rectify any problems you may have getting set up, but failing that there is a freephone help number you can call.
There are all the usual game types on offer at Virgin Poker, but most of the tournaments are in everyone's old favourite – Texas Hold'em. The Sunday evening EUR 75,000 guaranteed prize is the most popular of these, but there are lots of others every day with some pretty hefty prizes. There are also plenty of other ways to win big, such as the ongoing leaderboard prizes for VIP players. Stakes and buy-ins go from very very low to a kind of medium high level here so real high rolling players might not find enough games to suit their bankroll.
As you play in real money games on Virgin Poker you will build up V*Points based on the rake taken from hands you take part in. These can be redeemed on a variety of different bonuses, including cold hard cash, but it seems you get best value for money if you spend them on other Virgin products, such as a flight to Vegas! There are also a couple of VIP levels to achieve which increase the number of points you get from the rake.
All in all Virgin Poker is a great online poker site for new players or casual gamers. We don't think there are enough bonuses or rewards on offer to keep the real sharks interested which makes for a better experience for newer players. Sign up is free so why not give it a go or else check out our top ten list of the best online poker sites we have found for some other ideas.
