Editor's Review:

Ladbrokes offers some of the best online poker in the UK. Perhaps better known for its high street betting shops it makes sense for the well known British company to also be offering online poker as one of its services. It's great for a quick game as well as high stakes tournaments that require extreme levels of stamina to survive! As well as offering great bonuses on sign up Ladbrokes also regularly run quality promotions and exciting real world events making it one of the best online poker sites for winning big.

Before you can get involved in the action you will need to sign up for a Ladbrokes account. If you have already used any of Ladbrokes' other online services you will already have an account, however, so there's little to be done to make a deposit and join a table. The easiest way to sign up if you don't have an account is to download the client and sign up that way. This provides the easiest to use form and the whole process is completely seamless. If you would rather not bother with the downloadable client (or are a Mac use and so can't) it's also possible to play online through your browser. This still requires an account, but it's much easier for dipping in and out of games for 5 or 10 minutes at a time. It's also possible to play from any computer as the client is a Flash application which will run in most browsers.

There are plenty of different poker styles on offer at Ladbrokes and plenty of tables to choose from for each. Of course Texas Hold'em is always the most popular, but you will find lots of people playing 5 Card Stud or Omaha too. As well as different poker styles there are a lot of tables dedicated to different tournament types as well. Ladbrokes has one of the most extensive range of tournament options we have seen offering styles such as Bounty where part of the buy-in fee goes as a bounty on your head! These make standard tournaments a bit more interesting so are a great refresher if you are becoming jaded with it all!

By joining the Ladbrokes Poker Players Club you will earn player points as you play in real money games and tournaments. Like most good poker sites the amount you earn is based on the rake taken from each hand you participate in which means you can build up points even if you constantly lose! Player points can be spent on a variety of products in the online store or can be used to pay for entry to tournaments. The amount of player points someone has is generally a good indicator of how good a player they are so by checking out the leaderboards you can see some of the big names you are up against. The system also records detailed stats on how you yourself are playing so you can analyze your game and see where you are doing well.

LadBrokes Poker is a well polished and well run place to play poker online. It offers everything you could need in an online service and also runs lots of exciting real world events. Criticisms have been made about the quality of the players on some of the lower stakes tables, as they tend to just be trying things out after placing a bet or two elsewhere on the site, but certainly on the higher stakes tables the standard is as good as anywhere else. Signing up doesn't cost a penny so try out the service on the play money tables and we are sure you won't be disappointed.
