Mybet Poker is a great looking online poker site that caters for beginners very well. However, even advanced players will find plenty to interest them with the regular high value tournaments and promotions offering great prizes. The only thing stopping it from achieving a higher place in our ranking is that it isn't quite so well known as some other sites and so doesn't attract quite the same number or type of players. That said, there were still 8,000 odd going for it at an off peak time so you are never going to be short of a game!
We like the fact that Mybet Poker offers a client through your browser as well as on download. The smoothest experience to be had is through the downloadable client, but it only runs on Windows based Pcs. However, both versions are very good and make it easy to make a decision on which table to join by showing all the stats of the hands being played. Signing up for an account is free and very easy or you can use your existing Mybet account if you have placed bets with them previously. Just make a deposit and you are ready to go - or, more sensibly, try out your luck on the play money tables first!
There are plenty of poker types to choose from, all simply arranged so you can easily pick your favourite type. Of course most people opt for Texas Hold'em, but sometimes it can be fun to try out something different. You will easily find a seat at a cash table or one of the very regular sit and go tournaments that go on through the day. As you build up experience you might want to have a go at some of the bigger tournaments, such as the $250,000 prize one every Sunday. If you don't want to spend your own cash entering them you'll be glad to know there are regular freeroll tournaments too that you can enter by spending some of your myPoints.
MyPoints are what Mybet Poker calls the points in its player points scheme. You build them up as you play at real money tables and tournaments and by doing so build up your VIP level from the initial 'Settler' right up to the highest level 'Gunslinger'. As well as getting a great title by your name the higher levels of the VIP club let you build up myPoints quicker and give you access to a range of other bonuses. At the highest level you can also cash in your points for real cash, which is a slight disappointment as some other sites allow you to do this from the outset. Another slight quibble we have is that only higher levels of VIP members get access to the toll free support line whereas other sites provide this for all players. However, we can partly forgive Mybet Poker for this because it does offer an exciting monthly 'duel' tournament for its highest ranking players.
Mybet Poker is a good place to play online poker, but isn't quite the best we have seen. Players don't get quite so many perks as they might do at other sites and perhaps this is one of the reasons Mybet Poker doesn't have quite so many players as other sites. That said it still provides an excellent poker client and a great introductory tutorial for new players so we would reccomend it highly to those who have never played poker before. Even for those who have we would still reccomend it highly, but also remind you to check out what else is out there.
