Everest Poker is a well established online poker site with a lot of regular players and a profitable reward scheme. They provide everything you would expect from a good poker room with plenty of ring games and sit 'n' go tournaments for a wide range of stakes. However, we feel they could perhaps offer more in the way of big prize scheduled tournaments for high rolling players. It seems that many of the tournaments on offer are for lower prizes than a lot of other sites.
The Everest Poker client is an excellent piece of software that will make getting started in the world of online poker very easy even for complete beginners. If you fall into this category there is a training room to try out that will teach you everything you need to know to get started at the tables. Signing up is free and lets you try out the play money tables without having to make a deposit. This is well worth doing in order to try out the client and see if it works for you, but we are sure you will find it as fun to use as we did. The one gripe we have is that it is only available for Windows so users of any other system had better look elsewhere.
There aren't many different types of poker offered on Everest Poker, you are really only limited to Texas Hold'em and Omaha. However, we won't mark it down too much for this as most people tend only to stick to Texas Hold'em anyway. You will find plenty of tables to join at all stakes if you are looking for a ring game and also lots of sit and go tournaments if that's more your thing. Everest Poker offers micro jackpot sit and go tournaments, where you can only win up to $0.10, but these are great for getting to grips with tournament play. While there are a good many scheduled tournaments with decent prizes we left with the feeling that there are other sites out there that do offer slightly higher prizes.
Perhaps to make up for the slight lack of huge prizes Everest Poker does offer a very lucrative rewards scheme. There are seven VIP levels to move through and as you move up you earn more points based on the same rake taken. Each of the levels has a range of bonuses on offer too, such as the weekly $1000 freeroll tournament even for the lowest level of VIP member. Reward points can also be exchanged for cash and products from the online store at a pretty fair exchange rate. The online store doesn't just sell the usual branded merchandise either; you can swap points for a brand new Aston Martin or a variety of hi-tech gadgets.
Everest Poker is a well rounded online poker site and we are sure most people will find it to their liking. However, real high rolling, experienced players might prefer a poker room that offers some higher profile tournaments. It's always worth checking out our top ten first to see what else is out there, but signing up won't cost you a penny so you have nothing to lose by giving Everest Poker a shot.
