Editor's Verdict:

Littlewoods is a name more often associated with furnishings and casual clothing than online gambling, but the change in direction has suited them well and their online poker room isn't too bad. While it won't win any prizes for innovation or novel features, Littlewoods Poker is a decent enough online poker site suited mainly to beginner and intermediate players.

Signing up to try the play money tables at Littlewoods Poker is completely free and you only have to pay if you want to make a deposit to play at the real money tables. The client is only available for Windows, however, so best look elsewhere if you are running something else. Looks-wise it is fairly average, but it is pretty easy to use and handily lets you play at up to four tables at once. All the usual game types are available too, but in our experience there didn't seem to be all that many players at the low stakes tables for anything other than Texas Hold'em.

One of the criticisms of Littlewoods Poker in the past has been that it doesn't offer as high value tournaments as some of the other online poker rooms out there. This is still true to an extent, but there are plenty of decent prize tournaments on offer, such as the daily challenge series with a $145,000 prize pool guaranteed. There are also some decent freeroll tournaments for VIPs and new members and regular satellites for live tournaments like the Aussie Millions. High rolling professional players might struggle to find tournaments that interest them here though.

In terms of its reward scheme Littlewoods Poker is again OK, but not fantastic. There are several levels of VIP status that change monthly depending on the amount of reward points you build up and also a couple of yearly statuses that you can gain based on your annual reward points total. The site doesn't specify too clearly exactly what the bonuses for each level are, but certainly once you get to the high levels you can expect a personal customer relationship manager. Reward points can also be exchanged for cash to play with at the tables for a reasonable rate.

Littlewoods Poker doesn't do anything wild or special, but is a decent online poker room all the same. It doesn't attract quite the number of players that some of the bigger sites do, but you shouldn't ever be stuck for a game and this can sometimes play to your favour in tournaments.
